Hi Bro Honour, this Karma thing is very complex but very fair and just. Yes, some bad karma is carried over to your next life.But some are instantly manifested in this present life and some even immediately after you've committed a crime or done some evil deed! Yes, it's that capricious.
So the wise will always be mindful of their thoughts,their words and their actions for Mr Karma spare no one. You reap what you sow.This is a universal truth. It's better to suffer NOW then later.It's always better to pay back NOW than later.If bad Karma is allowed to accumulate,then a sudden tragedy or catastrophe would be the result. If bad karma is immediately manifested in pain, anguish and suffering, things will not be that tragic. You are given early and ample warning to change your ways and to accumulate and cultivate merits.
But unfortunately, the evil, the greedy and the lustful will continue with their wayward ways until tragedy strikes at their heart - and then disaster, agony and suffering follow rapidly. Suffering and more suffering....;-(((
